Napoli hit stalemate in contract talks for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

Napoli are currently at a stalemate in their new contract talks for winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

The Georgian was vital for Napoli in their Serie A title win last season but he hasn’t quite reached the same levels this season, with his form raising some eyebrows.

Daniele Longo has reported that Luciano Spalletti’s exit and a poor relationship with Rudi Garcia has had an impact on Kvaratskhelia’s form and the lack of a new deal has also been playing on his mind.

The Georgian expected some more things from Napoli, when it comes to a new deal right after the end of the previous season. Some time ago, his agents tried to knock on Napoli’s door to adjust his current salary but that didn’t happpen as Aurelio de Laurentiis didn’t open up to that possibility.

De Laurentiis is proposing a four-year agreement on a new deal but he wants developments to take place only in the spring, as it would be a better reflection of how the player is performing. But instead of having a positive impact, it is having a negative impact as Kvaratskhelia isn’t having a great season by any means.

Things could still change but it is worth noting that no talks over a deal have taken place so far.
