With the transfer window quickly approaching, Napoli boss Walter Mazzari has submitted his short-list of central defenders in which he views as ideal in order to help the Partenopei following a difficult first half of the campaign.
As it stands, last season’s scudetto champions currently sit in joint-fourth alongside Roma with 24 points, whilst the Giallorossi have a game in-hand, putting the Partenopei at risk of slipping outside of the top four this evening.
The departure of Kim Min-Jae to Bayern Munich have left Napoli vulnerable in defence, as the Azzurri have conceded 18 goals in 15 games-played thus far.
With Napoli currently in a crisis as they have recently lost three consecutive fixtures across all competitions, the returning coach of the Partenopei is eager to gain vital resources in the transfer window in an attempt to patch up the defensive woes within his squad.
La Reppublica reports, via CalcioNapoli24, that Napoli are eyeing Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi, Wolverhampton Wolves’ Max Kilman, Feyenoord’s David Hancko, Bayern Leverkusen’s Edmond Faical, and former Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng as possible targets heading into the second half of the 2023/24 term.
