Napoli accelerate efforts for Gutierrez with fresh offer

Napoli have submitted an offer close to €30 million for Girona left-back Miguel Gutierrez (h/t Marca).

Despite competition from Juventus and AC Milan, the Partenopei are leading the race to secure his services.

The Spaniard has a €35 million release clause in his contract, and the Serie A champions have made the highest offer.

La Liga giants Real Madrid could be the major beneficiary, having retained half of his future sale.

Napoli manager Antonio Conte is eyeing some high-profile names in the transfer market to build a formidable squad ahead of the new season.

Considered one of the best full-backs in La Liga, the 23-year-old played a key role in the Catalan club’s remarkable third-place finish in the 2023/24 season.

The former Madrid star is an attacking-minded full-back who thrives in progressing the ball, with the ability to take on defenders and great passing range.

He is also a final third phenomenon, ranking among the best full-backs in Europe with the most crosses and passes into the penalty box.

Conte relied on Leonardo Spinazzola and Mathias Olivera as the left-backs on the road to the Scudetto triumph in the 2024/25 season.

The Partenopei also rewarded Olivera with a contract extension in March until 2030 for his impressive performances.

Napoli have all but secured the services of Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne as their marquee signing this summer.

They have also lined up Bologna duo Sam Beukema and Dan Ndoye, Liverpool’s Federico Chiesa and AC Milan midfielder Yunus Musah as potential targets.
