Moses Simon’s departure from FC Nantes has been confirmed, with the Nigerian joining Paris FC. Another stalwart of this Nantes side is now set to depart – Pedro Chirivella (28).
It is expected to be a summer of change at the Beaujoire. There has already been a managerial change with Luís Castro replacing Antoine Kombouaré, whilst Simon has also left after six years at the club.
L’Équipe understands that former Liverpool midfielder Chirivella will be the next to depart. The Spaniard arrived five years ago on a free transfer and has since been elected club captain. He has been a key member in Les Canaris’ midfield and was a part of the club’s Coupe de France triumph back in 2022.
Last season, he played 30 games in Ligue 1, but he is now set to depart for a relatively nominal fee. As per L’Équipe, a deal has been reached with Panathinaikos, who will pay just €2m for his services.
