Bild reports that Julian Nagelsmann is the favorite to take over as Germany coach from Hansi Flick, who was sacked earlier today.
One potential stumbling block is that although Nagelsmann was sacked as Bayern Munich coach in March, he remains under contract with the German champions until 2026.
This means that in order to hire Nagelsmann, the German Football Association would have to agree a compensation fee with Bayern, who are reportedly asking for between €10-15 million. Whether the DFB would be willing to spend such a fee is questionable.
Other reported candidates for the job include Oliver Glasner, Stefan Kuntz, Jürgen Klopp, Rudi Völler and Matthias Sammer.
