Movement in Real Madrid-Kylian Mbappé discussions

The Athletic are reporting that Real Madrid continue to have discussions with Kylian Mbappé (24) and his entourage about a potential move to the Bernabéu. 

It is now secret that Paris Saint-Germain forward Mbappé is a long-term Real Madrid target. The French international almost joined last summer before ultimately signing a contract extension at the Parc des Princes until 2024, in a deal that includes the option for a further year. 

However, rumours of a move to Real Madrid persist and have intensified in the wake of PSG’s Champions League exit at the hands of Bayern Munich. Mbappé has denied that his future at PSG is tied to their fate in the prestigious European competition. 

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has refused to comment on the rumours linking Mbappé to the reigning European champions. However, The Athletic have revealed that discrete channels of communication, between Real Madrid and Mbappé’s entourage, have been kept open. 

The publication added that since the FIFA World Cup, in which Mbappé won the Golden Boot, there has been “movement” in discussions between Real Madrid and Mbappé. One of the greatest transfer sagas could, therefore, be reignited.
