It’s no secret that Wolfsburg have entered the transfer market to sign a central-defender this summer. Bild have identified three targets that would be suitable to replace John Brooks.
The Bundesliga have had previous success when it comes to buying defenders from Ligue 2 after Maxence Lacroix joined from FC Sochaux un 2020. The latest to be linked with a move to Wolfsburg is 19-year-old Isaak Touré from Le Havre.
Also on the list is Frenchman Moussa Niakhaté from Mainz. The 26-year-old is entering the final year of his contract with the Bundesliga club and is a candidate for a departure this summer if they fail to reach an agreement for an extension.
Lastly, Wolfsburg have reportedly had an opening offer for SC Braga defender David Carmo rejected with the Portuguese side looking for a fee closer to €25 million. The 22-year-old has a contract until 2025.
