Reached for comment by Jörn Petersen of Germany’s preeminent footballing publication, Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has revealed the nature of Youssoufa Moukoko’s latest injury.
It appears as if the injury suffered by Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko over the weekend is a syndesmosis tear. The club hasn’t made the information official yet, but BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl divulged the information to German journalist Jörn Petersen of Germany’s Kicker Magazine when reached for comment on Monday.
Given the nature of the injury, the 18-year-old can be expected to miss around six weeks. Kehl called the news “quite bitter” for the recently re-signed teenage phenom. Moukoko has netted a total of six league tallies for die Schwarzgelben thus far this season. He featured in three of BVB trainer Edin Terzic’s six starting XIs since German football returned from the World Cup break in January.
