Youssoufa Moukoko says he respects Borussia Dortmund teammate Karim Adeyemi’s decision to turn down a call-up to Germany’s U21 national team.

Karim Adeyemi’s decision to turn down an invitation to join Germany’s U21 squad in order to stay and try to work his way back into the Borussia Dortmund side has led to criticism from many sides.
Youssoufa Moukoko, who did turn up to play for the U21s, respects his Dortmund teammate’s decision.
“You just have to accept that he didn’t come because he wants to work hard in Dortmund,” Moukoko said after Tuesday’s 3-1 win over Poland.
“There is a reason why he is not here. And we respect that,” Moukoko said, adding that he believes Adeyemi has “unbelievable potential” and is “an incredible player”.
