Lecce star Morten Hjulmand has reportedly sparked an interest from several Serie A clubs.
According to TuttoAtalanta.com, Inter Milan, Roma and Atalanta are all interested in securing his services while Eintracht Frankfurt are also keen on him.
The 23-year-old has been a very important member of the Salentians. He played a key role last season in helping his side earn promotion to the Italian top-flight, starting 36 league matches and contributing three assists.
The midfielder has also made a strong start this campaign, making 14 league appearances so far.
His amazing performances haven’t gone noticed as several top Italian clubs are being linked with him.
The Nerazzurri are said to be looking for a backup to Marcelo Brozovic and believe the 23-year-old to be a good fit. While La Dea are looking at him as a possible replacement for Marten de Roon.
Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho’s Roma are also tracking the Dane in the latest Serie A news.
Top midfielder
Hjulmand started his senior career at Austrian outfit Admira Wacker before moving to Lecce in January 2021.
Since then, he has clocked up 74 appearances across all competitions, with seven assists to his name (stats from Transfermarkt).
Hjulmand plays as a defensive midfielder who is highly rated for his tackling, aerial duels and ball interception skills.
This season, he has averaged an incredible 2.5 tackles, 2.1 interceptions and 1.9 clearances per game in the Italian top-flight. He has also completed 2.3 long balls boasting 76.9 percent passing accuracy (as per Whoscored).
