Montpellier HSC’s Becir Omeragic (24) has rejected the chance to join MLS side Kansas City, according to a report from Mohamed Toubache-Ter.
With some transfer windows still open, Omeragic continues to attract interest. The Swiss international surprisingly remained with La Paillade, despite the club’s relegation to Ligue 2 last season. And once again, despite being the subject of interest in January, he remained at the Mosson.
Basel up their offer for MHSC defender
However, not all of the transfer windows are shut and there is no guarantee that he sees out the season at Montpellier. But Kansas City won’t be his destination. Omeragic has rejected the US club, despite a large salary being offered.
That offer came amid significant interest from Swiss club FC Basel, who have offered a fee of €1.5m for the centre-back, plus bonuses, and a percentage of the resale, which has jumped from 20% to 30%, Toubache-Ter understands.
