AS report this afternoon that French striker Wissam Ben Yedder has been handed a prison sentences of six months and one day as well as a fine of €133,798 for tax fraud during his time at Sevilla.
Reportedly, the former Toulouse forward did not submit his tax returns in time for 2017, which is said to cover his salary at the Andalusian outfit but also property and image rights income. The ruling also claims that the 32-year-old “consciously falsified” his returns and did not declare income on three separate bank accounts, while also pointing the finger at a sponsorship deal with Adidas, which the hearing says was carried out via a contract signed between the brand and a company in which the player was the only associate.
The Sevilla court has indicated that the sentence will be suspended over the next two years, and then be dropped provided the French international does not offend again.
