Youssouf Fofana will return for AS Monaco after missing out on last week’s victory over Montpellier, whilst Folarin Balogun is expected to once again start over Wissam Ben Yedder up front.
Fofana was a late withdrawal from the squad last weekend, however, he returned to training this week and is in contention to start on Saturday. Should he do so, he would likely replace Mohamed Camara in the Monaco midfield.
Adi Hütter may revert to his favoured 3-4-3 formation. The Austrian manager experimented last week, playing a back four and just one holding midfielder, however, his side looked imbalanced before a half-time tweak. The tried-and-tested may therefore return. Should the 3-4-3 make a return, Soungoutou Magassa could make a return after being dropped last weekend.
Monaco likely lineup v Rennes
Philipp Köhn; Soungoutou Magassa, Guillermo Maripán, Wilfried Singo; Ismail Jakobs, Denis Zakaria, Mohamed Camara, Vanderson; Aleksandr Golovin, Folarin Balogun, Maghnes Akliouche.
