Monaco hoping to complete signing of Juventus’ Denis Zakaria next week

Fabrizio Romano is reporting that AS Monaco are hoping to complete the signing of Juventus midfielder Denis Zakaria (26) next week.

Romano reported back in July that the Principality club had submitted an opening offer for the Swiss international midfielder, who spent last season on loan at Chelsea. According to the Italian journalist, the Principality club are now looking to conclude the deal next week. Negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing, whilst Les Monégasques also continue discussions with Zakaria and his entourage.

Ignazio Genuardi believes the fee may rise to around €20m as Monaco look to beat considerable Ligue 1 competition. The journalist reported that RC Lens, RC Strasbourg Alsace and Stade Rennais were all interested in signing the Swiss international. It is unclear whether Zakaria is viewed as a partner to or replacement for Youssouf Fofana. It had been expected that the France international would leave the club this summer, but no club has yet made concrete advances for the player.
