The Professional Fighters League restarted its live events business on Saturday, the 25th of January, at a venue in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and one of the very first fights on the cards could barely have ended in a more brutal fashion as Haider Khan forced an early stoppage in his middleweight match against Mostafa Nada.
Khan ended the fight three minutes and 18 seconds into the first round, when he launched a kick that landed so accurately on Nada’s arm that it appeared to snap it in half.
Nada did not immediately react, even though the sound of the injury was nasty. It took a few seconds for him to realize what had happened, perhaps feeling that his arm was dangling the wrong way. As soon as Khan saw, he knew it was over, and celebrated the win while Nada tried to nurse the horror injury.

Conor McGregor put the Nurmagomedovs on blast after Paul Hughes classic fight in PFL MMA.
Haider Khan Snapped Mostafa Nada’s Arm
It all went down early on the PFL MMA fight card in Dubai
Watch the finish right here:
The rest of the card was hardly bereft of drama, as it showcased a main event between two supremely-skilled MMA fighters in Usman Nurmagomedov, and Paul Hughes. Nurmagomedov pipped Hughes to a decision win after a bloody, 25-minute battle that pushed both guys harder than they’ve fought before.
Nurmagomedov couldn’t help but pay Hughes his respect after the fight. “I underestimated this guy,” he said, in a statement sent to GIVEMESPORT, after retaining his championship belt.
Hughes, meanwhile, felt aggrieved at the loss and said he’d like to force a rematch in Belfast. “It played out how I expected, I’m so gutted and disappointed I lost. I thought I won the fight, I probably left some in the tank, I need to leave everything behind next time.”
“I really thought I was going to win.”
“The PFL believed in me and I believe in the PFL. We have to do the rematch in Belfast, it has to be in Belfast, I think I’ve earned this.”
In the co-main event, Vadim Nemkov submitted Tim Johnson in the first round with a rear-naked choke in the final fight of his PFL deal. Nemkov now enters free agency, and could choose between pushing for a spot on the UFC roster, or re-signing with PFL to take on someone like Francis Ngannou, who has no clear PFL rival at heavyweight.
