Sky Germany reports that Borussia Dortmund have held initial talks with Sven Mislintat about the sporting director role.

Borussia Dortmund have held initial talks with Sven Mislintat over a possible return to the club as sporting director, according to Sky Germany.
Sven Mislintat enjoyed a highly successful stint in Borussia Dortmund’s scouting department between 2006 and 2017 before opting to become head of scouting at Arsenal. Since then, the 51-year-old has had spells at Stuttgart and Ajax and is now out of work.
Sky now reports that Dortmund are exploring the possibility of hiring Mislintat as their new sporting director should Sebastian Kehl, who currently holds the position, succeed the outgoing Hans-Joachim Watzke as the club’s managing director.
In addition to Kehl, Eintracht Frankfurt board member for sport Markus Krösche is understood to be a candidate to replace Watzke.
Dortmund announced in January that Watzke’s contract will not be extended beyond 2025 and that he will leave the club’s management structure “in the autumn of next year”.
