Serie A giants Milan fell to a 2-1 defeat to Torino in the league today as they remained at seventh in the table.
A Malick Thiaw own goal had put Milan behind early in the game. Reijnders equalised in the 74th minute but only a couple of minutes later, Gvidas Gineitis made it 2-1 for Il Toro, who picked up a massive win.
Reijnders, who had scored in the game, spoke to DAZN about the tie and he stated his belief that the Rossoneri are making things hard for themselves.
He said, via MilanNews: “Yes, at the moment we are making life difficult for ourselves. When you start the match like this you have to come back to equalise, we did it but we gave away the equaliser straight away. We have to be more mature because otherwise you complicate your life.”
The Dutchman also spoke about things in the dressing room, revealing that everyone is trying to be positive.
“We try to be positive, because we still have chances in the league: now that we are out of the Champions League we are more focused. It is more difficult to stay focused after defeats like this but we must try to build confidence.”
Milan are currently seventh in the Serie A table and are as many as six points behind the fourth placed side Juventus. This comes after they were knocked out of the Champions League at the hands of Feyenoord, which has dented their European hopes decisively.
