Milan will take on Napoli in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and while the Partenopei will go into the game as favourites, the Rossoneri have a formidable record against Italian sides in European competition.
Napoli have never played in a Champions League quarter-final in their history before but Milan are historically adept at playing in these stages of the competition. When it comes to taking on fellow Italian sides, they have faced them nine times in European competitions history.
They have lost only once and that defeat came against Parma in the 1993 edition of the Super Cup and they had lost the tie 2-1 on aggregate and Parma had beaten them 2-0 in the second leg.
They have won five of those nine games and that includes their win over Juventus via penalty shootouts in the Champions League final of 2003 at Old Trafford. They have knocked out Inter twice in consecutive seasons as well, having beaten them 5-0 on aggregate in the quarter-finals of the 2004/05 season and even beat them in the semi-finals of the 2002/03 season, knocking them out on away goals.
