Milan are now desperate to sign a centre-back this summer after losing the race for Sven Botman to Newcastle United, who have somewhat hijacked the deal from the clutches of the Italian giants.
A report from La Repubblica (via Milannews.it) understands that Francesco Acerbi is not the only defender who has made the Rossoneri’s transfer shortlist this summer, but the club has also added Abdou Diallo to their list of potential transfer targets.
It claims that Milan’s interest in the France-born Senegal international is long-winded, with the Italian side making enquires about the centre-back in the last January transfer window.
The Senegalese made only 12 league appearances for Les Parisien last season and doesn’t see any improvement in those numbers next season while playing in a star-studded department.
Despite being labelled as a natural centre-back, Diallo has the experience of playing both as a left-back and in the defensive midfield position.
The player has a contract at PSG until June 2024. Milan want to sign the 26-year-old on a loan deal with the right of redemption.
