Serie A title holders Milan have now reached a verbal agreement to extend Olivier Giroud’s contract at the club.
Giroud has been quite a success for the Rossoneri since he joined from Chelsea in the summer of 2021. He was crucial to their Serie A success last season and he still scores important goals for the club at the age of 36.
Sky Italia state that Ricky Massara and Paolo Maldini held a meeting with the entourage of the Frenchman at Casa Milan today and it proved to be a rather positive talk. The parties reached a verbal agreement over a new deal, with Giroud now set to stay at the club till the summer of 2024 and earn €3.8 million per season.
This season, Giroud has found the back of the net 12 times in all competitions and eight of them have come in the Serie A. He has also racked up six assists in all competitions, showcasing that he is more than just a goalscorer even at 36.
