Milan reach agreement with Leicester City for Patson Daka

Milan have already made nine signings this summer, but they are not finished yet. Sky Italia have reported that Milan are close to reaching an agreement for Patson Daka. After the move for Mehdi Taremi fell through, he will remain at Porto, the Milan board still wanted to give Stefano Pioli a striker. Patson Daka was sourced as the best option.

Daka is currently at Championship side Leicester City, and has not yet played a minute of the new season. Still at just 24 years old, his potential has always been there to see, and Milan are willing to gamble on the Zambian striker. The proposed loan deal between Leicester and Milan will be for €2 million, and last for the season.

The big challenge for this deal is time. As it is deadline day, time is running out for the deal to be formalised and that is likely to take some hours, as Daka is a non-EU player.

Daka made 13 league starts in the Premier League last season, scoring four goals, as well as registering four assists. He has never hit the heights that were expected of him when he joined Leicester from Salzburg. A big reason for this however, was a lack of game time. With Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho both on the books as well as the Zambian, game time had to be shared and he was never allowed to have a consistent run of games. Milan will be hoping with a more important role in the team, he can shine.
