Michael Olise will miss Bayern Munich’s pre-season

As reported by Sky Germany, Michael Olise will miss Bayern Munich’s pre-season preparations.

On Sunday evening, Der Rekordmeister confirmed the signing of Olise from Crystal Palace in a move that could be worth up to €60 million. However, the right-winger is not expected to be a key figure for the record champions at the start of the campaign.

This is because Olise has been called up to the France squad for the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris. It is understood that the 22-year-old will play a crucial role for Thierry Henry’s side this summer as the hosts look to claim gold.

France will face the USA, Guinea, and New Zealand in Group A. With the final scheduled for August 9th, Olise will miss a significant part of Bayern’s preparations.

Der Rekordmeister will begin pre-season on July 17th before going on a tour of Asia between July 31st and August 5th. They will also face Tottenham Hotspur on August 10th in preparation for their first competitive fixture of the new campaign on August 16th, when they will face SSV Ulm in the DFB-Pokal.

Regardless, Olise is still expected to play a crucial role for Bayern this season. Once the winger has been integrated into the side, he could look to make the right-wing position his own, having dazzled in the Premier League for Crystal Palace.
