According to Florian Plettenberg, both Odilon Kossounou and Nordi Mukiele will undergo their medicals later today.
It had recently been reported that Bayer Leverkusen were looking to offload Kossounou before the end of the transfer window.
However, while it had appeared as though the centre-back would be bound to sign for a Premier League side, Atalanta quickly negotiated a deal with Die Werkself in order to get his signature over the line.
This has, therefore, left Xabi Alonso’s side in need of finding a replacement for the departing 23-year-old.
Nevertheless, the German champions had already identified Paris Saint-Germain defender Mukiele as the ideal successor for Kossounou.
With all parties agreeing on loan moves for the respective players, as stated in the report, deals for Kossounou and Mukiele should be completed soon.
Kossounou is set to undergo his medical with Atalanta later today before completing his move to the Seria A outfit, while Mukiele will also undergo his medical with the Werkself, as the 26-year-old is set to make a return to the Bundesliga.
