Mbappé confirms ‘one man’ controls Olympic fate & speaks on Bellingham-Tchouaméni debate

The latest media appearance on the part of Paris Saint-Germain superstar and Real Madrid transfer target Kylian Mbappé gave rise to a number of altogether noteworthy takeaways.

First and foremost came an insight into the possibility of Mbappé lining out for France at this summer’s Olympic Games.

As much has of course proven a headline talking point in the media for some time now.

This comes with the frontman himself having made clear his hopes of leading his country’s gold medal pursuit in his home city of Paris.

La Liga giants Real Madrid, with whom Mbappé is expected to pen a long-term contract any day now, however, are understandably concerned by the prospect of as much, with the club’s incoming Galactico also set to represent France at the upcoming European Championships.

Speaking in a press conference whilst on international duty on Friday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his potential participation at the Olympics was put to the 25-year-old himself.

And Mbappé’s response has since piqued attentions across Spain.

This comes amid suggestions that Real president Florentino Pérez is essentially in full control of the prolific wide-man’s summer plans:

“If I play the Olympics then it will be a dream,” Mbappé began. “But if I’m not allowed to, then I will do as I’m told. The decision is still up to one person and they haven’t told me yes or no yet.”

From here, the PSG star was then drawn on the clip of future Real Madrid teammates Aurélien Tchouaméni and Jude Bellingham to have gone viral across social media this week.

After it was widely claimed that the two Blancos midfielders were caught arguing about who was a superior player between Mbappé and Erling Haaland, Tchouaméni was forced to speak out, confirming that the debate in fact centered on Eric Dier, and Dayot Upamecano.

And Mbappé went on to admit that, upon stumbling across the video, even he was of the initial opinion that it was likely about he and Haaland:

“I saw the video of Tchouaméni debating Jude Bellingham, we laughed about it. I thought it was about me, but it wasn’t.”
