Sky Germany reports that Hoffenheim striker Maximilian Beier will join Borussia Dortmund for a fee of around €30m after the clubs reached an agreement on a transfer fee.
The 21-year-old will have his medical in the coming days and will sign a contract at Dortmund until 2029. The cost of Beier is roughly the same as that of Niclas Füllkrug, who joined West Ham earlier in the window.
Last season, Beier played his way into Germany’s EURO 2024 squad with his 16 goals in his first full Bundesliga season. The striker recently missed Hoffeheim’s pre-season friendly against Fulham as Dortmund and Hoffenheim engaged in negotiations.
Beier will be Dortmund’s fifth signing of the summer as they look to overhaul their squad under new head coach Nuri Sahin. Already Dortmund have signed Waldermar Anton, Serhou Guirassy (both VfB Stuttgart), Pascal Groß (Brighton) and Yan Couto (Manchester City), while the club will also not stop there with left-back a position they are looking at strengthening.
