Max Allegri could have two games to save Napoli job

Serie A side Napoli find themselves in a difficult situation early in the campaign, having lost two games in a row in all competitions. But Max Allegri’s failure to beat struggling Venezia has now piled on the pressure.

La Gazzetta dello Sport – via Calciomercato, report that even Napoli CEO Aurelio De Laurentiis was left confused with some of the selections in Venice. He feels Allegri’s position is now at risk, with De Laurentiis concerned with the ongoing chaos.

That is why the next two games could decide Napoli’s short-term future and could even lead to Allegri’s exit. The Partenopei take on Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League next, followed by a difficult tie against Roma.

In the meantime, possible replacements have also emerged and one happens to be ex-Tottenham and Juventus manager Igor Tudor. A shocking name happens to be that of Vincenzo Italiano, who recently left his post at the Turkish national team.

Squad needs bolstering

While the Napoli squad isn’t perfect and has obvious holes after a disappointing window, Allegri hasn’t helped himself. But whoever the next manager is will have to deal with a squad which is imperfect and will have a team that will rely a lot on overperformance.
