FC Barcelona’s Jules Koundé (27) and Eric García (25) are ruled out of the Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain, the club have confirmed.
Having suffered a sprained left ankle, the French defender is unavailable for the away match at the Parc des Princes, according to a statement from the Blaugrana. Whether he will be included in the Catalan squad for the home match against Real Madrid next Sunday will depend on how his injury progresses.
García, who sustained a right thigh injury during Barça’s victory over Real Betis (2-5) on Saturday, will be sidelined for “three to four weeks”.
It’s a major blow for Hansi Flick and the Catalan side, who are in the midst of a busy run of fixtures; they are set to face Los Merengues in the Clasico next Sunday, before taking on Alavés, Aston Villa and Atlético de Madrid ahead of the November international break.
