Mauricio Pochettino wants Romelu Lukaku to return to Chelsea from Inter

Incoming Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino wants Romelu Lukaku to return to Stamford Bridge from his ongoing loan stint at Inter.

La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported about the Belgian’s future today, stating that he wants to stay at Inter and has no intentions of returning to the Premier League and he has made his choice very clear. But not everything depends on him, as Inter and Chelsea will have to talk about the situation when the season ends since they had promised each other about the possibility of another loan deal.

As of now, incoming Blues boss Pochettino would also like to evaluate the possibility of having Lukaku in his squad and he wants him to return in the summer. Both the clubs will talk about the striker after the Champions League final, but for Lukaku to stay, two conditions will have to be met on Inter’s end.

They would have to qualify for the Champions League, which can happen this weekend. Secondly, he has to reduce his wage demands to make it easier for Inter to sign him. Lukaku has shown to be open to that possibility, as he currently earns €11 million per season.

Not long ago, the possibility of Lukaku returning to Inter next season seemed remote but the door is now open again.
