Tottenham Hotspur centre-forward Mathys Tel (20) is growing increasingly frustrated over his lack of regular playing time under the tutelage of Thomas Frank, according to RMC Sport. The France U20 striker is even considering the possibility of leaving the North London side as early as this winter.
Tel initially joined Tottenham Hotspur on loan from FC Bayern Munich last year. His move to North London was made permanent in the summer over a €35m transfer fee. Tel is currently tied to the Premier League side until 2031. Early in the season, he was snubbed by Thomas Frank and didn’t even make the squad for the Champions League. He was eventually reintegrated following Dominic Solanke’s injury.
RMC Sport reports that Tel can’t be satisfied with the way his blossoming career has turned into. The former Rennes Academy product dreamt of making Didier Deschamps’ World Cup squad with France, but he’s far away from that now given his playing time.
The outlet adds that Tottenham Hotspur are not that keen on a departure for Tel, even a temporary one.
