As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Martin Braithwaite is prepared to see out the end of his contract unless an offer comes in from a team that is willing to match his current salary.
The Denmark international’s contract is set to expire in 2024, however, Xavi has no intentions of using him in the upcoming season. The Barcelona coach has made it clear back in May that the 31-year-old has no future at the Blaugrana and was not included in the club’s pre-season tour of the United States.
Braithwaite has maintained that he wants to continue playing at the highest level. Even though he has received offers from Getafe and Celta Vigo, he is not willing to switch clubs unless he is able to receive a similar salary to the one he is earning at Barcelona.
Barcelona could consider terminating his contract, however, that would be another expense for the Spanish side that they would like to avoid as they try to to level their finances to better their economic situation.
