Leonardo Balerdi and Sead Kolasinac are both absent for Olympique de Marseille as travel to Stade de Reims with the aim of finally ending Will Still’s unbeaten run as manager.
In the absence of Baledri and Kolasinac, Samuel Gigot, Éric Bailly and Chancel Mbemba are set to start in a three-man defence. Balerdi’s absence will be music to the ears of one Marseille fan in particular, who says he is on hunger strike until the Argentinian defender leaves the club.
Elsewhere, there will be very few, if any changes. Mattéo Guendouzi, who missed out on Didier Deschamps’ France squad in mid-week, has become less essential for Les Phocéens as the season has progressed, and he may have to settle for a position on the bench on Sunday evening. Valentin Rongier and Jordan Veretout are favourites to start in the heart of the midfield.
Marseille likely XI v Reims
Pau López – Samuel Gigot, Éric Bailly, Chancel Mbemba – Nuno Tavares, Jordan Veretout, Valentin Rongier, Jonathan Clauss – Ruslan Malinovskyi, Alexis Sánchez, Cenzig Ünder.
