Marseille (OM) predicted XI v Lorient: Alexis Sánchez to start as Chancel Mbemba returns

Marseille travel to Lorient hoping to get back to winning ways and keep up with Lens’ chase after Paris Saint-Germain at the top of the Ligue 1 table. Les Merlus have been impressive at home, with 10 points in their last 5 games at Stade du Moustoir whilst OM are a feared team in Ligue 1 when playing away from home, having won their last 5 away games.

Alexis Sánchez is expected to start after it was revealed he is playing through the pain of an injury to his right foot as Chancel Mbemba returns to the back three. Meanwhile, Azzedine Ounahi and Amine Harit are no closer to making a return for Les Olympiens as Eric Bailly looks to retain a place on the bench.

In defence, Igor Tudor will be expected to line up with Mbemba, Gigot, and Kolašinac, as Rongier moves back into midfield (he played in the back three against Montpellier). The Frenchman should be joined by Veretout in a central two to assure some solidity, as Guendouzi could start the game from the bench.

Jonathan Clauss and Nuno Tavares will retain their usual positions at wing-back, whilst Ünder and Malinovkyi pair-up in attacking midfield behind the Chilean Sánchez who looks set to lead the line.

Predicted Marseille (OM) lineup against Lorient:

Pau Lopez – Chancel Mbemba, Samuel Gigot, Sead Kolašinac, Jonathan Clauss, Nuno Tavares – Valentin Rongier, Jordan Veretout, Cengiz Ünder, Ruslan Malinovsky – Alexis Sánchez.
