Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille have stepped up their pursuit to sign Arsenal centre-forward Eddie Nketiah (25), according to a report this Saturday from Foot Mercato. Marseille are planning a complete revamp of their attack with Iliman Ndiaye (24), Vitinha (24) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (24) already gone and Ismaïla Sarr (26) being the subject of interest for Crystal Palace. Les Phocéens have already secured the signing of Mason Greenwood (22).
The Ligue 1 side seem to have an interest in Premier League strikers with Wolves’ Hwang Hee-chan (28) and, most notably, Nketiah in their crosshair. The outlet understands that the 25-year-old Arsenal striker is considering leaving the Emirates Stadium amid heightened competition in Mikel Arteta’s squad.
Nketiah is tied with Arsenal under a contract set to expire in 2027. Roberto De Zerbi’s Marseille have tested the waters and submitted a first bid to their London-based counterparts. It remains to be seen whether the Gunners are ready to part ways with Nketiah, and at what cost. However, the outlet understands that the England international and Marseille are close to reaching a total agreement on personal terms.
