According to a report from RMC Sport, Olympique de Marseille are unlikely to secure the signing of Aymeric Laporte (30) this winter. It was reported that the defender was a target for Marseille sporting director Medhi Benatia who had attempted to convince him to join the club.
However, RMC Sport details that Marseille could return to the target this summer. Laporte who left Manchester City in 2023 is currently playing his football in Saudi Arabia with Al-Nassr where he is under contract until 2026.
Marseille unlikely to secure Aymeric Laporte this winter but remain active
Marseille have been active this winter as they look to reinforce Roberto De Zerbi’s squad for the second half of the season. The club are trying to secure a return to the Champions League and are sat second in the table with a three-point gap between them and AS Monaco. Les Phocéens have been linked with several attacking options such as Arsenal target Evan Ferguson, as well as midfielders Nicolo Fagioli and Nicola Zalewski.
