According to a report from Foot Mercato, Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior (25) is on the long list of defenders that Olympique de Marseille are looking at ahead of a summer transfer window, where they look to bolster their backline. This is not the first time that Les Phocéens have been linked with the defender.
Kiwior joined Arsenal from Spezia Calcio in January 2023 and has gone on to make 65 appearances across all competitions for the club. However, the Polish international has largely seen his time in England limited to being a back-up option.
The recent injury to Gabriel Magalhães (27) has seen Kiwior step into the first team, and he started in both legs of Arsenal’s Champions League semi-final elimination to Paris Saint-Germain.
Marseille searching far and wide for defensive support
Reports have suggested that Marseille are casting a wide net as they look for defensive recruits this summer. The club have been linked with a move for RC Lens’ Facundo Medina (25) as well as former Manchester City centre-back Aymeric Laporte (30).
