Inter proved to be too hot to handle for Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico, as the Nerazzurri ran out 2-0 winners and Marcus Thuram was on song again.
Coming into the game after Juventus’ failure to beat Genoa yesterday, Inter knew that a win would take them four points clear at the top of the table and that is exactly what happened. A familiar pairing of Lautaro Martinez and Thuram scored a goal each, handing Sarri’s side a blow in the race for the European spots.
Thuram kept his immense run in front of goal going. The summer signing has now scored against Lazio, Roma, Napoli, Milan and Fiorentina, while also having assisted against Juventus earlier in the season. More so, he has now scored in three consecutive games in the season.
For a player who had joined the club on a free transfer, Thuram’s impact at Inter has been brilliant and he has formed a devastating partnership with Martinez, who has become his partner in crime. In 21 games in all competitions, Thuram has contributed to 17 goals and that is already a great return for any new signing.
