Marco Asensio will be leaving Real Madrid on 30 June, as reported by Relevo in Spain on Friday.
The 27-year-old is set to leave the Bernabéu after seven seasons and now has a whole host of possibilities open to him.
European clubs will be looking at him, given his quality, experience and age. There has been interest from the Premier League, PSG and also from Italy. Another team that like him are none other than FC Barcelona, according to Catalan outlet Mundo Deportivo on Saturday.
Asensio is very much liked by Barcelona and also by head coach Xavi Hernández. They consider him to be a player with a profile that suits Barça and that he would help the team make the leap in quality that they need to compete in Europe.
His agent is Jorge Mendes – a good friend of Barcelona president Joan Laporta, however, the Catalan club prefer to avoid confrontation with Real Madrid.
Asensio now looks set to leave Madrid and will decide on his next move over the coming weeks. Premier League clubs will be able to afford his wages and England could be his next destination.
