In an interview with Téléfoot set to be broadcast in full on Sunday, Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Manu Koné has notably reacted to reported interest on the part of Paris Saint-Germain.
L’Équipe reported last month that PSG were potentially looking to gear their upcoming summer recruitment campaign towards singing French players, with French youth international Koné on a list which also includes Randal Kolo Muani and Marcus Thuram.
The French youth international, who made the move to the other side of the Rhine in 2021 from formative club Toulouse, is a native of the Paris suburbs and spent some time in the Paris FC academy.
“It’s nice to see. People know that I’m from Paris. They’re a big club who are in the Champions League and have big players. When you play with them you can only improve. But then I am at Gladbach, so I have to stay focused. We’ll see what happens, I’m staying clear-headed and professional.”
Koné has made half a century of appearances with Die Fohlen over his two seaons with the club, finding the net three times and assisting twice. The team currently sit in tenth place in the Bundesliga, their only win since January coming against Bayern Munich.
