Inter have sight their sights on increasing the attacking department of their squad as a result of the lack in supply of goals from pair of forwards Marko Arnautovic and Alexis Sanchez, as Manchester United forward Anthony Martial has emerged as a candidate in the market.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Nerazzurri view the French international as an ideal back-up to bolster the attacking depth in their squad, whilst Porto forward Mehdi Taremi remaining the primary objective.
With Martial’s contract set to expire at the end of this year’s season and the Premier League outfits seemingly unwilling to extend his stay any further, Inter are prepared to potentially pounce on the opportunity to sign the 28-year-old on a free transfer.
In addition, the Beneamata are keeping their tabs open for Atalanta’s Luis Muriel and Chelsea’s Armando Broja as possible transfer targets ahead of next season in the case that they are unable to secure Taremi and Martial.
With the Milanese side growing increasingly frustrated and losing patience with Arnautovic and Sanchez as the pair have amassed a combined total of only two assists in the Serie A thus far, the Nerazzurri are determined to move towards resolving the severe lack of goals up-top outside of star forwards Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram.
