Manchester United are interested in making a summer move for Napoli defender Kim Min-Jae.
Kim joined the Partenopei from Fenerbahce last summer after Napoli activated the South Korean’s release clause. Rennes were close to signing him but missed out on the chance, as the player chose Napoli. So far this season, the ex-Fenerbahce has arguably been the best centre-back in Serie A.
There has been talk of Kim signing a new deal with the Naples outfit and Marco Conterio has provided an update about the defender’s situation, saying that the Partenopei are set to make contact with the player’s entourage in the next few days. Napoli want to remove or increase the €50 million release clause that currently exists in his deal.
Contact was previously made with Paris Saint-Germain but it is stated that Manchester United are keen on making a summer move for the 26-year-old.
Juventus, the report states, were keen on signing him last summer but an issue pertaining to non-EU players slowed down their move. Inter were also close to sealing the deal for him but shifted focus to Bremer, who gave a positive response much quicker.
