According to Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United are closing in on the double signing of Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich.
It had previously been reported that the Premier League outfit were looking to sign both Bayern defenders this summer.
However, there are a number of factors that are preventing the deal from being struck early.
It is believed that United are waiting to sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka to West Ham United before they look to make an offer for Mazraoui.
As well as this, the two clubs are still trying to agree on a fee, with Der Rekordmeister holding their ground on their valuation of the duo.
Nevertheless, as stated in the report, the two sides are in positive ongoing negotiations, and a deal is set to be struck this month.
Erik ten Hag is keen to bring both players to Old Trafford, and his wishes are being appreciated by United as talks with Bayern are looking to be finalised.
