Paris FC and Manchester United are competing to sign Stade de Reims’ Patrick Zabi (19), according to a report from Sacha Tavolieri.
The Ivorian has excelled in Reims’ midfield this season, making 18 appearances in all competitions. However, he is one of several players that Les Stadistes are now struggling to retain. Tavolieri understands that Paris FC saw three bids rejected in December. The last one was worth €15m plus another €10m in bonuses.
Les Parisiens, ambitious and looking to build a project to challenge the elite in French football, are expected to return to the fore this month. It is a deal that is being led by Red Bull, and Zabi has already spoken with Jurgen Klopp.
Reims’ demands are significant as they look to extract €25m for the player, and that may be doable given the interest of Manchester United, who see in the player the “New Paul Pogba”, according to Tavolieri.
