While Paris Saint-Germain’s seach for a centre-forward is now dominating the headlines, the Ligue 1 champions are ostensibly still looking to reinforce their options on the rest of their frontline as well.
Foot Mercato report tonight that Bernardo Silva remains the club’s priority, although Manchester City have turned down an initial offer worth €42m plus a player. They have given the Champions League winners the choice between several options, including Marco Verratti and Gianluigi Donnarumma.
The Premier League outfit have set their asking price at €100m, and are looking at Nicolò Barella as a potential replacement, given they know the Portuguese international is interested in a return to Ligue 1.
Silva was a key player in Manchester City’s treble-winning campaign this past year, notably scoring a double against Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals. After six seasons in England the 28-year-old, who won the French title with Monaco in 2017, could be set for a return to French football should PSG make another offer.
