Manchester City Forward To Exit As Arsenal Closes In

in a recent report, Express stated that Arsenal are closing in on signing Manchester City winger Gabriel Jesus. It has also been mentioned that the Gunners will try to tempt the Brazilian by holding crunch talks with the Sky Blues regarding an official offer.

Jesus’ Impressive Form In The Etihad Club This Season

Jesus has enjoyed a fruitful campaign in the Etihad Stadium after managing to give a good account of himself in the attacking end of the field. He featured in 41 matches for the Mancunian outfit this season, netting 13 goals and providing 12 assists across all fronts.

The 25-year-old has produced some influential displays for the Mancunian giants by averaging 2.3 shots, 1.4 key passes and 1.6 dribbles per game in the Premier League. He has even been excellent when distributing possession to his teammates based on his pass completion rate of 84.8% in the English top-flight (stats via whoscored).

Should Pep Guardiola Let Him Move To Manchester City Rivals Arsenal?

Jesus can get in behind the opposition defence using his quickness and agility. He can escape his marker and create space for himself to open up opportunities for finding the back of the net. He can also chip in with a few assists to set up his teammates in front of the goal.

Furthermore, the Brazilian attacker is primarily a centre-forward but remains versatile enough to feature anywhere in the frontline. At 25, his best days are ahead of him and at this age, he would be looking to feature regularly, which the Arsenal would definitely offer him.

Pep Guardiola’s starting XI does not have a place for Jesus to fit in after Erling Haaland’s arrival to Etihad. The Brazil international would struggle with game time and that could threaten his growth. Arsenal were contending for the top four spot this season but failed to do so. The addition of a player with such calibre would definitely add more firepower to Arteta’s squad and they could emerge in the top four places next season.

It would be wise of Guardiola to cash in on him and a move to Arsenal would be beneficial for Gabriel Jesus even though the Gunners would profit the most out of this deal.
