Manchester City are weighing up a summer move for Juventus defender Nicolo Savona, according to Foot Mercato.
Injuries and a drop in form from key players have scuppered City’s hopes of retaining the Premier League title. Their Champions League campaign also ended earlier than expected.
City have identified Diogo Costa as their primary goalkeeping target, and they are closing in on the Porto star.
The club also wants to improve their full-back options. Savono is on their radar.
Savona could be a shrewd buy for Man City

Savona has had a brilliant season. His form earned him a first senior call-up to the Italian national team under manager Luciano Spalletti.
His outstanding campaign has attracted interest from Man City. According to Transfermarkt, his current value is around €14 million, making him an affordable target.
Man City’s first choice for the right-back position is Wesley Franca of Flamengo. However, talks with the Brazilian club have been protracted.
This delay has made City look at other players. These include Newcastle United’s Tino Livramento of Newcastle United. However, there are concerns over his transfer fee.
Newcastle are likely to demand a high price, which may make City think twice before making an offer.
By contrast, Savona is a more cost-effective option. His age and potential fit well with City’s long-term plans.
