In a recent report, Manchester Evening News stated that Nottingham Forest are showing keen interest in Manchester City full-back Issa Kabore this off-season.
It has also been mentioned that they identify him as a replacement for Djed Spence with a view to a potential loan move.
Kabore’s Campaign This Season
Kabore has put up decent numbers on loan at Troyes, having produced a few impressive displays in Ligue 1. The right-back has contributed to 4 goals by setting up his teammates with assists over 38 appearances this season across all competitions.
He has made the most out of his appearances, averaging 1.5 tackles, 0.6 interceptions, 0.9 clearances, 0.6 key passes and 1.4 dribbles per game in the Ligue 1. However, Kabore has only managed to complete 76.6% of his attempted passes in the top tier of French football (stats via whoscored).
Should Kabore Be Loaned Out By Manchester City Boss Pep Guardiola?
Issa Kabore can use his pace to make some decent runs with the ball down the right flank. He has proven to be a good defender at the back with consistent performances. He can even chip in by creating opportunities in the final third through assists.
The 21-year-old is primarily a right-back but is versatile enough to fill in as a right-sided wide player if needed. Thus, he would be a terrific signing for Nottingham Forest this summer, as they need a replacement for Djed Spence who is also on loan.
The Burkina Faso international was signed from Mechelen in 2020 and then loaned out to the same club following a few first-team appearances with the Sky Blues. He has finished another loan spell strongly with the Ligue 1 club, but his arrival to the Etihad might be a long way off with the likes of Joao Cancelo and Kyle Walker playing at the right-back position.
Pep Guardiola should loan him out to Nottingham Forest as it would help prosper his growth with regular play-time and further improve him in the long-term future.
