Man Utd to rival Arsenal for Declan Rice this summer

Manchester United will give Arsenal competition in the race to sign Declan Rice from West Ham United this summer, according to The Guardian.

After nine years at the club, the 24-year-old will likely leave the Hammers. West Ham boss David Moyes admitted there is a good chance he will move.

Moyes wants to keep Rice but knows the player could be eyeing a move to a top club.

Arsenal currently lead the race for Rice’s signature. They have their eyes set on the defensive midfielder and have been laying the groundwork to sign him.

However, West Ham have set a price tag north of £100 million for Rice.

Arsenal will hope to avoid a bidding war that could further spike that figure. That will be unlikely with Manchester United interested in the player’s services. United are reportedly preparing to swoop for Rice.

Although, the reports claim United might decide not to bid for the West Ham captain.

United manager Erik ten Hag is prioritising a move for a centre-forward. The former Ajax coach wants Harry Kane.

Taking Kane from the grasp of Tottenham Hotspur will involve a massive sum. They may not have enough to come back for Rice.

United reportedly want to add more physicality in midfield, and their interest in the England international is growing.

Also, United want Chelsea duo, Mason Mount and Mateo Kovacic. The Blues could sell both men this summer in their summer clearout.

Mount has had an unusual campaign where he has not been instrumental for the Blues.

In addition, his contract expires in 12 months, and they will not want to lose him for free. They could sell him with Arsenal, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and United showing interest.

Kovacic also has 12 months left on his deal with Chelsea and wants to leave the Londoners. Man City and Bayern Munich are the frontrunners for his signature, but United are now in the race.
