Manchester United are faltering in the final third and may be forced to seek solutions in the transfer market to reignite their attacking firepower.
According to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Man United have their sights set on Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface as a potential target.
The Premier League giants are actively scouting the striker market and ‘plan’ to bolster their attacking ranks next summer.
Boniface has proved to be a lethal striker at Leverkusen under Xabi Alonso.
He has netted bagged 29 goals and 11 assists in 49 games for the Bundesliga outfit.
The £38 million-rated centre-forward could be a challenging signing for the Red Devils, considering his current deal runs until 2028.
Alonso believes Boniface has massive potential as he has ‘Drogba-like qualities‘.
United have failed to find a perfect striker for almost a decade now.
They have invested £108m to sign Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, but they have failed to impress.
Hojlund has immense potential but has struggled for consistency. He has scored just two goals in 13 outings this campaign.
Zirkzee delighted the United fans with a goal on his debut but has failed to score another since then.
He faces an uncertain future after just four months of his arrival due to the change of manager at Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim wants his striker to possess pace and have the ability to take on defenders.
If the young duo fail to improve their performances, United may look to bring Boniface to Old Trafford.
