Manchester United could make a surprise move for Chelsea talisman Nicolas Jackson in the coming months, according to reports – with the Red Devils aiming to land a new striker to solve their striking woes from the season gone.
United finished 15th in the Premier League, their worst-ever placing by some stretch, and that will see them look to sign a new striker in the summer transfer window – with only Everton and the three relegated sides scoring less than them in the league last season.

Young Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund has had a spate of poor performances this season, scoring just four goals in 23 starts in the Premier League – and whilst auxiliary forward Joshua Zirkzee has featured in the attacking midfield roles at times, he’s fared even worse with three strikes to his name.
As a result, Amorim is eager to boost his options with the addition of a new striker in the summer – and Jackson would act as a strong alternative to Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres. Liam Delap, who was also a United transfer target, is set to join the Blues for a fee of around £30million after Ipswich Town’s relegation from the Premier League – and that has raised doubts over Jackson’s future.
That could open the door for United, and the report has claimed that United are ‘monitoring’ a move for the former Villarreal man – with Amorim making an approach for the 23-year-old to feature alongside new star Matheus Cunha.
New director Jason Wilcox is playing a ‘key role’ in United’s recruitment, and he’s identified Jackson as the perfect partner for the former Wolverhampton Wanderers star as United search for an ‘athletic’ striker to stretch back lines, with Jackson having been called ‘extraordinary’ in recent times.
Chelsea are reluctant to negotiate as things stand, but Jackson’s current deal isn’t due to expire for another eight years – and that could cause problems in their bid to sign the Stamford Bridge hero.
