Manchester United are close to securing their third signing of the summer transfer window, according to the Guardian (page 35).
The Red Devils have already landed the services of Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro and they are now in advanced talks to sign Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich.
The club have reportedly agreed a deal between £15-20 million for the four-time title winner, but a transfer won’t go through until they find a buyer for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Wan-Bissaka recently turned down an approach from West Ham United in order to join Inter Milan, but the Red Devils appear optimistic about changing his transfer stance.
United edging closer to Mazraoui transfer
Wan-Bissaka has entered the last year of his contract with United and the club has decided to offload him to pursue a more attacking right-back.
Mazraoui has been identified as the ideal replacement. The Moroccan played for four seasons under manager Erik ten Hag at Ajax and he should be familiar with the playing style.
This would help him to quickly adapt and provide competition to Diogo Dalot. The former Ajax man registered four assists from under 2,000 minutes for Bayern last term.
His injury record is a genuine concern. He has missed 30 games for club and country over the last two years with multiple issues, but United seem prepared to take the risk.
United will hope to sanction Wan-Bissaka’s sale at the earliest possibility so they can land Mazraoui. He has already agreed terms for an initial five-year contract.
